Lee Lynch’s Amazon Trail: A Tenth Anniversary at Sea

We had every intention of being homebodies this year. No travel at all, just a year to save our pennies and get grounded. It’s been delicious. After several months of staying in our little coastal home, my mind is sharper, my sleep schedule is approaching normal, and I’ve got a good start on my next book.

Then, something just as wonderful happened. The publishers of Sapphire Books invited us to be part of “Literary Adventures at Sea,” a program they put together with Olivia Cruises, which is being sponsored by Curve Magazine. I admit that I cried when we were asked. Two of our best friends urged us to join them. My sweetheart and I never ever dreamed we could go on a cruise. This one is sailing the inland passage of Alaska. Alaska! Growing up my parents’ apartment in Queens, I never thought I’d travel farther than Manhattan.

Lee Lynch’s Amazon Trail: The Mightiest of Books

As an adult, I’ve had no interest in children’s books. I left them behind half a century ago. Or did I?

Chicken Little, for example, has been a powerful influence in my life. I was a nervous child—that hasn’t changed—and the Little Golden Book didn’t help. First my mother read it to me, then I read and re-read it on my own. I didn’t have many books then, which might help to explain why visitors never see walls in the home my sweetheart and I share. The walls are covered by bookcases.

And the Winners of the LGBTSr Coffee Cups Are …

As promised, in celebration of my 63rd birthday this week five subscribers to LGBTSr have been selected at random to receive a fabulous LGBTSr coffee cup. Those winners are: Michael, Jeff, Elaine, “A”, and “M” (you don’t actually have to provide a name to subscribe). I’ve emailed them with the announcement and their cups will be on the way in time for the holidays.

How the cups look in the hands of real people!

LGBTSr Celebrates 10 Years with a Comeback!

Yes, it’s been a decade. I was a mere 52, contemplating whatever years immediately precede the golden ones, when I decided to launch a website dedicated to the over-50 LGBTQ audience. Not only have I left my 50s behind, but we officially added the ‘Q’ as our umbrella gets bigger and more inclusive.

With a couple of extended vacations from LGBTSr.com, I’ve been doing this site for a decade. I’m collecting Social Security now. I’m a year from retiring from full time work (I will almost certainly work part time after that, but not in my current position). And I’ve written and published 10 novels of the mystery and thriller varieties

Lillian Bostwick hated the cat in the window. It taunted her, defied her, and finally taught her how to live again.

“It sat in the fifth floor window all day long, season to season, morning to night, staring across into her living room. It would be there when she got home from work, positioned exactly where it had been when she’d left that morning. It watched her as if it knew everything about her, as if it just couldn’t wait to tell the neighborhood about Lillian Bostwick and all her little secrets.
